Merry Christmas!

Oh, I’m definitely going back to take more pictures of this house on Washington Avenue. A very good friend of mine says that if they, John and Ethelyn Unger, dared do this in Spain, their neighbours would burn the house down. He’s right. I bet they would. Merry Christmas and welcome to America!

Bay Rum Cologne

bay_leavesWas this what they used as aftershave in westerns? I wonder.

2 ½ ounces crushed bay leaves;

1 ½ teaspoon ground cardamom;

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon;

½ teaspoon ground cloves;

1 pint Jamaican rum.

Add bay leaves and spices to the rum and shake well. Strain and bottle. This cologne will stay true for months if kept at room temperature.

Concerning Antonio’s Rants and Ravings

For those of you who are mystified by the entries that I’ve been so randomly posting under the category labelled ‘diary,’ you ought to know they’ve been snatched from your teacher’s journal while he was, in all fairness, pretending not to notice. I’m no snoop, but— Heck! What’s a rag doll (some of you, I bet, wouldn’t stop at calling me a ragamuffin or worse) with a flair for picking locks with a hairpin to do when it comes across such a chance in a million? Like witty, winsome Oscar used to say, ‘L’unico modo per liberarsi dalla tentazione è cedere.’ Only he said it in English. Oh! By the way, the entries have been bowdlerised. So no harm done… except to some.
